1987 Gemballa Ferrari Testarossa
Gemballa is a tuning company based in Leonberg, near Stuttgart, Germany. It was founded by, and named after, Uwe Gemballa in 1981. His shop provided aftermarket parts mainly for Porsche but in 1988, created three Gemballa tuned Ferrari Testarossas. This is one of the three. Gemballa is still in business, changing their name to Gemballa GmbH after the founder’s death in 2010.
The first thing that becomes apparent when you look at this custom yellow Ferrari is the missing strakes that have become the trademark of the original Ferrari Testarossa. Gemballa removed the strakes and replaced with a split air intake.
* custom designed front and rear bumpers * a small roof spoiler, a streamlined rear view mirror and tail spoiler * custom wheels, color matched to the car’s color * custom exhaust system * custom interior * rear view camera which rotates so the driver can see what’s behind (modified rear end made the left and right rear view mirrors useless)
The unmodified engine is the factory spec 12 cylinder flat mounted 4.9 litre, producing 390 horsepower and 0-60 mph is 5.2 seconds.
